Directions to Mosetlha Bush Camp & Eco Lodge
Madikwe Game Reserve is located in South Africa’s North West province, with Botswana at its northern border. It is about three-and-a-half to four hours’ drive from Johannesburg/Pretoria, to Rustenburg and then either on to Zeerust or alongside the Pilanesberg.
We recommend that you drive via Rustenburg/Pilanesberg and enter Madikwe through the Molatedi Gate in the south of the park. This trip is on tar roads, with only the last 9.5 kilometres before you reach the gate on gravel. Your journey will take you through many villages, and you will need to watch out for animals such as cows and goats, which are often on the roads.
Once you come in the gate, you will be directed to the North West Parks Board’s offices, where you will park and leave your car. You will be collected in a game-viewing vehicle and taken to Mosetlha, about ten minutes’ drive away.

Directions from Marikana Toll Plaza to Molatedi Gate
You should be at the gate at 12.30pm on check-in day. (Please don’t arrive before 12.30pm, as we are unable to accommodate you before then. Also, please let us know if you are going to be much later than that – phone the office on +27 (0)11 444 9345, or Whatsapp message us on +27 (0)71 951 5841.)
On your arrival, the gate guard will give you a sheet with directions to the meeting point. He will also fill in a park entrance permit with your details and will radio us to alert us to your arrival. (You do not need to pay the entrance fees at the gate – we will collect this from you at Mosetlha on behalf of the North West Parks Board.) You will be given two copies of the entrance permit; please hand the original white copy to your Mosetlha driver when he meets you and retain the pink or yellow copy for when you exit the reserve.
In order to get to the location where you will leave your own vehicle and be met by your Mosetlha driver, please continue on the main road from Molatedi Gate for 11.6km where, immediately after curving to the left, you should follow the sign saying “Park Administration”.
Just 700m (i.e. 0.7km) further on, you will come to a sliding gateway in an electrified fence on your left, and a final sign indicating “Park Administration”. Go through this gate, swing left and park at the back of the building next to the tower with the four green water tanks. Here, you will be met by your Mosetlha driver.
Please observe the 40km/h speed limit, for your safety and that of the animals.
